| The Riverside Acoustic Club - Folk and Acoustic Music in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire |
THE RIVERSIDE ACOUSTIC CLUB has a found a bright new venue in the Cockerel Inn.
Organisers, Matt Worley and Gary Davis are founders of the club which ran successfully in Stourport Town from 2004 till 2009.
At its height the club was attracting almost 20 different acts to its Thursday night Open Mic. slot and audience numbers occasionally reaching a hundred reflected the great entertainment on offer.
World-famous folk acts graced the Riverside stage in that period including Martin Carthy, Steve Tillson, John Renbourn, The Tannahill Weavers (back soon!), Bob Fox, Vin Garbutt and many more.
Hopefully we can, with your support, resurrect the success of the old club and we therefore look forward to welcoming performers and audience old and new.

Thanks For Coming! |
Such was the success of the first Open Mic. at the Cockerel Inn that we've decided to make it a monthly event on THE FIRST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH. (starting 6 May)
An audience of around 80 was treated to some high-class entertainment and everyone seemed to agree on the excellence of the venue and the evening's great atmosphere.
Artists appearing were: Smooth, Phil Cadman, The Two Steves, Makale, Ben MacAulay, Straff Dance, Les Freeman, Keith and Dee, Fairfield, Roger Herbert, Lester and Paul, James MacFarland and The Grumpy Old Guitarists.
Many thanks to all who supported the event and especially to Dave Stone, our MC/Comedian/Guinness Taster for the night and the guys of Bromsgrove Folk Club who came along to offer their support.
cheers, hopefully see you at the next one! ..... Matt and Gary

TANNAHILL WEAVERS This dynamic quintet play Scottish traditional music at its best. The band’s potent mixture of traditional ballads and fiery instrumentals leaves their audiences spellbound. As tight and versatile as any band in the Celtic music scene, the Tannahills can summon rock-n-roll intensity or haunting introspection. "Over the years the Tannies have been trailblazers for Scottish music, and their tight harmonies and powerful, inventive arrangements have won them fans from all over the world.
MAKALE are a rising new local guitar and fiddle duo who perform great songs with a Celtic feel. From Irish Jigs to their unique arrangements of modern popular music they offer superb entertainment.
